Objectives

We inform, equip and empower women through perimenopause so they can take charge of their change. 55% of women in the UK say they feel unprepared for perimenopause. Early warning signs manifest with poor mental health - insomnia, anxiety and low mood before, often a few years ahead of physical symptoms. It can be hard to join the dots. By the time women do, they are distressed and struggling to manage home or work life. We help both prepare women ahead of perimenopause as well as support women who are in the thick of it. It can be confusing, overwhelming, expensive and time-consuming to know how best to self-care. With our team of voluntary Resident Advisors (clinicians, functional medicine specialists, natural wellness experts and other women's wellness practitioners) and House Guests (authors & other health experts), we provide women with an evidence-based toolkit, programme and community to thrive again. With women making up half the population and 75% of women transitioning through menopause at work, it's essential that we start educating women and getting them ready to avoid a perimenopause time bomb. We are also living longer than ever which means that for the average women, 40 years will be spent peri and post menopausal! We are a community that stretches beyond midlife. Some women are in their 20's and 30's in surgical menopause and with POI. We also work closely with BAME communities

Activities

We have an online research and self-care hub called The House. In there is The Study & Cinema Room with a 6 module programme plus other rooms where women can enhance their physical, mental, cognitive, social and sexual self. They can draw upon integrated health disciplines to decide what works for them. In addition, we run outreach programmes for BAME communities and other paid workshops and events via Zoom
