The Oscar Romero Award Trust provides a framework to support Catholic schools to recognise and celebrate what they do to promote Catholic Social Teaching (CST), and challenges them to weave CST into the culture and ethos of the school by way of strategic planning, curriculum development and practical choices.
Impact: one school said, "As a school, this Award has really allowed us to take stock and acknowledge all that we already do, whilst also considering how we can rebuild our curriculum and school focuses following the pandemic."
The Oscar Romero Award Trust runs a framework that provides Catholic schools/colleges with an inclusive structure for exploring ways and developing strategies to put the principles of Catholic Social Teaching into practice. To achieve these aims, we run a website where schools and colleges will find information on how to register and apply for the Award, together with the tools and guidance for each level. We also offer training to schools and colleges on how to include Catholic Social Teaching (CST) in their strategic, curriculum and everyday life.
Our Validators assess the applications from schools, and offer feedback and guidance on how schools can improve or move on to the next level.
