Objectives

All Hallows Church is the Anglican Church in Ordsall and serves the population of Ordsall which forms over one third of the population of the market town of Retford. The Vicar is a part of the Retford Team Ministry. Local  people use the church  for regular worship, baptisms, weddings, funerals and occasional meetings.

All Hallows was founded circa 1250 and forms an important landmark in Ordsall being visible from a wide area. It is the only church in Ordsall and so is important to anyone in the local population who wishes to worship God & follow their Christian religion, get married in church, seek a baptism for themselves or a child, or arrange a funeral.

Activities

AllHallows Church holds Sunday and mid week services. The Vicar, other assisting ministers and a team of Lay Readers and other members of the congregation visit local people in their homes to administer communion, support them in times of need or discuss a service needed. There are a range of church activities well supported by members of the congregation that offer local people a chance to meet others in an informal atmosphere both in and outside a church service. For example the church has weekly drop in Coffee & Chat, Traidcraft, home Bible study, church services aimed at isolated people, those grieving for a loved one, and a monthly Messy Church activity aimed at young families. The Church holds various community events like an annual Scarecrow Festival, Summer & Christmas Fairs, Quizzes, Beetle Drives and professional artiste events including music and drama.
