Open Ears helps people affected by any degree of hearing loss, their friends and families and any organisations with whom they are in contact. We give pastoral care, relevant information, sign posting and tailored events. As far as we are aware, we are the only Christian organisation focusing solely on hearing loss. We have a specific understanding of the impact hearing loss has on people's journey of faith and of their ability to access worship services and fellowship. Therefore we are able to advise and support both service users and providers.
We send a weekly email where news is shared as a two way dialogue between members and Open Ears. Our quarterly magazine incorporates information on new technology, lived experience, uplifting and encouraging thoughts and readers contributions.
In 2024 we gave our members our inaugural daily prayer calendar which was very well received and we intend to continue producing these annually.
We hold regular online events including quarterly Bible conferences, occasional quizzes, prayer gatherings as well as offering one on one pastoral support.
Pre-Covid, we ran in person holidays/in person breaks and we have just started having in person one day events with a view to increasing to residential.
