Life doesn’t have to slow down or stop as you get older. But all too often older people can feel that life’s given up on them. So Open Age works with older Londoners to create chances to get together, find work, learn new skills and develop new interests. By doing this, we help people stay healthy in both mind and body to keep living life to the full.
Open Age works across Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham to enable older adults to engage in physical activity, social groups, language classes, IT / iPad training, lunches, creative and performing art groups and trips. We run over 380 activities a week across 60 different community venues to ensure we are addressing local need.
Open Age helps people connect with others and take part in activities. We can help people get healthier and happier by exercising and taking control of their health. Open Age enables older adults to learn new skills, develop new interests and make new friends. We help people to get online and use the internet and computers to connect with others. Open Age supports older adults back into work and help tackle age discrimination in the workplace. We run a carer's service to provide support to older adults who are looking after others; and deliver social groups and activities over the phone for people who are housebound. We help older adults to live, not just exist.
