We are residents in Lambeth who want to support our communities and bring about positive change. We came together to protest 'low traffic neighbourhoods' (LTN) but quickly realised there was so much more to work on beyond traffic and transport.
From the local economy, housing, transport, issues affecting the young and older people, health and wellbeing, and crime and security and more, we want to stand up for our community.
We are united by our conviction that local politics must be democratic, representative, and transparent and to help achieve this we act as an enabling platform for those truly independent local candidates who wish to serve our community as Independent Councillors.
Our activities focus on trying to achieve the following at a local level for Lambeth:
Local: Authentic and inclusive representation by and for local people putting local needs first
Voice: A voice for all local people including the marginalised and excluded
Change: Positive change for our whole community
Service: Local government acting on behalf of the whole local community
We undertake a range of activities to help achieve our goals. This includes: surveys and consultations, campaigning, petitions, supporting local Independent candidates to stand for election, challenging local decision making and democracy, speaking up on behalf of local residents.
