Objectives

The Old Church is a not-for-profit arts venue in the heart of Stoke Newington, and the only surviving Elizabethan church in London.

We are committed to inspiring arts and celebrating community, hosting a wide variety of music, art, dance, and performance events. Through our artistic programme we bring together people from across our local community and empower them to realise their creative ambitions.

We care for and preserve the heritage of our wonderful 463-year old building, opening up access to the public so that people feel connected to the history of community, dissent and creativity that has stood on the site for many generations.

Activities

We host a public programme of events spanning comedy, classical music, theatre, cabaret, debates, contemporary music, workshops and dance. We run participatory projects giving a creative voice to those in our community. This year's flagship project is a three month community producers programme where local people are given the skills, space, budget and training to plan, programme, promote and produce a festival of local creativity.
