Objectives

The Nubian Jak Community Trust exists to promote equality and diversity for the public benefit, particularly but not exclusively with Britain’s African Caribbean Community and from the wider Commonwealth, by broadcasting the hidden histories of which people of all age groups and cultures in this country are typically unaware and which it is important for them to know, in order to raise levels of self-esteem especially among the younger members of the BAME community.

Activities

NJCT collaborates and works with other brands, partners and various media to:-

  • Install blue plaque and sculpture installations within the UK public realm, witnessed by millions each year via TV, press and the Internet.
  • Book publications (3 currently published) another in progress, board games, etc…
  • Generating recognition of the historical contribution of the BAME population to British society
  • Our website (utilising an SEO Strategy)
  • Talks/webinars/workshops
  • Blue plaque tours / tour maps
  • Exhibitions
  • Information packs
