NAN exists to help people deal with everyday problems. We provide access to advice, campaign on social issues and provide support for people and organisations. We provide a comprehensive online advice database, including many local services operating across Nottinghamshire. We also provide help through our innovative projects, helping people with mental health problems get help with money and debt and providing training on budgeting and money management skills.
We work with all kinds of people, from all walks of life, and we work hard to make sure every person using our services gets the help they need, when they need it. We don’t charge for these services, but we strive to maintain the highest quality standards. We signpost people to reputable advice providers, including Citizens Advice, and make sure the service providers we endorse meet our own high standards.
We aim to work in a way that reflects the diverse communities we serve, that means we strive to reach out to as many people as we can, offering online, face to face and telephone advice. Our vision is to act as an agent of positive change, working to build a better society and improve services through innovation.
We provide advice through online resources, signpost to advice sector partners and deliver grant funded projects that aim to help the most vulnerable people get access to free, independent advice and support. We also campaign on issues relating to poverty, social justice and financial inclusion and we offer a range of support services, including training, for other charities and groups.
