Northfield Community Partnership was formed in 2007 as part of a response to the collapse of MG Rover and the associated issues that impacted on local people shops and business through this.
Money was awarded through Advantage West Midlands and a property was found in a high-street location where members of the local community could have advice around jobs, training and skills.
For 9 years NCP has delivered a vital range of services to the local community including job support, volunteering opportunities, and a range of health initiatives.
The Hub (as the high-street property is now known) has become an integral part of Northfield, providing an accessible and prominent high street location for the provision of services that improve people’s lifer chances, whilst providing facilities and support to groups who deliver opportunities to the wider community. NCP is now a very well-trusted and respected local community organisation, known for championing the area, providing opportunities for individuals and businesses to connect with services, and offering high-quality support across a whole range of issues. We have worked hard to foster strong links with Birmingham City Council; it’s MP (Richard Burden), local councillors, other community organisations, churches, school’s businesses and was instrumental in setting up Northfield Stakeholders Group.
Current Service Delivery includes on site job advisors, A UK online Centre, free internet access, Food Bank, Sexual Health Services, Benefit and Homeless/Housing Advice a dedicated youth provision and Smart Works Birmingham. We also deliver a range of outside community projects which include older peoples groups intergenerational work and Northfield Culture Mash, incorporating an Urban beach, and a range of free music and arts activities. We are also instrumental in working to affect policy change and influence decision makers through Northfield Stakeholders Group.
