Objectives

North Kensington Law Centre was set up in 1970 as the first law centre in the country and it continues to help local people in the North Kensington area solve their problems and ensure the best outcomes for those who are facing disadvantages - whether in employment, housing, welfare benefits, asylum and immigration.

As well as offering legal aid services, the law centre has also diversified its approach in recent years in order to best weather the challenging economic framework.  Thus, we now offer low cost and fixed fee services to ensure that those with low incomes can continue to access legal advice and representation when needed.

Without the law centre's valuable work, many of the poorest and most deprived citizens in this part of central London would not be able to benefit from their legal rights.

Activities

We provide legal advice and, where appropriate, legal representation.  We have a small team of lawyers and also volunteers to assist.
