Objectives

“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline”

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

North Cotswold Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust network of food banks. Our Foodbank was founded in 2011 with our first outlets in Bourton, Moreton and Winchcombe opening in early December 2011. As demand increased across the North Cotswolds, further outlets were opened in Chipping Campden (2012), Bishops Cleeve (2015) and Stow Stow-on-the-Wold (2021). A warehouse for food storage was opened in Guiting Power in 2012. We work with many local churches, schools and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.

This is a really exciting time to join the food bank and help shape our services locally.

Activities

Through a network of local referral partners we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in hardship. We also offer a warm welcome, listening ear and signposting support to everyone visiting the food bank. Between April 2022 and March 2023, we distributed 1600 food parcels to people across the North Cotswolds.
