We provide a Membership model of positive mental heath opportunities for adults aged 18 to seniors. The Clubhouse is based on the International Clubhouse model of positive mental health recovery. We have Hubs in Watton and Thorpe Hamlet where our Members meet socially and take part in activities they wish to undertake. This can be making pieces of art, photography, cooking, gardening or creating items of craft for sale at Craft Fairs we hold through the year to showcase our Members work and to raise some funds.
Our help provides opportunities for Members to take an active part in the running of the Clubhouse, provide peer to peer support and to ensure that our Members are provided with what they need and want to build resilience and live the life they want around autonomy, competence and relatedness.
We are a Member led organisation which provides Membership for life for those with our without a specific diagnosis. We provide unique opportunities for people with mental health needs which provide continuity, stability and sustained support, preventing crisis and working in a systemic way with organisations and business in the County to connect and strengthen whole families and communities. We create ecosystems of support in local communities and we belong to a global community of more than 320 International Clubhouses worldwide.
Our Thorpe Hamlet Hub meets weekly at a Community Centre on Mondays. Our Watton Hub has been meeting twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays at a Community Centre in Watton. Members meet socially, share their experiences through peer support and choose activities they wish to do either individually or collectively. This may include cookery, gardening, making art or craft items, playing old records or playing games including table tennis. We also provide one to one support utilising a coaching approach and provide access to pro-bono coaching from some volunteer coaches to help build confidence. We support our Members to access further education, training and employment if this is important to them around building resilience and promoting recovery.
