NICOLA stands for New International Company of Live Arts, and was originally born out of a desire to bring the arts and young people together. NICOLA is ‘New’ because it was started from scratch, without predecessor organisations. It is ‘International’ because it brings together people of different origins, while facilitating collaborations between artists and participants based in different countries. ‘Live’ denotes energy and impact of the various ‘Arts’ NICOLA works with. The non-for-profit ‘Company’ itself is still very young, having only been set up in February 2008 by a group of young people and professionals. In August 2012, since its huge developments, NICOLA has moved from a volunteer group to a registered Charity.

NICOLA has built hundreds of contacts with like minded associations around the world, travelled numerous times to Poland, Lithuania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Holland, France and Italy for projects or training regarding environmental, cultural and social issues. NICOLA WORLDWIDE aims to inspire a sense of active citizenship, solidarity and tolerance amongst people.

One of NICOLA’ s main project is NICOLA Talent Factory, a concept born to train and develop young people in music and dance, improving their personalities, providing them with the right skills and confidence to start careers in arts related employment as performers, joining existing arts organisations or to run their own business or Social Enterprise. NICOLA Talent Factory provides a range of activities from live performances to
talent exchanges nationally and internationally to regular mentoring sessions to help them to create original materials (music and music video).
