We have five users on our Committee and they form part of our decision making process. We involve all members in our programme planning and actively support them to undertake specific roles e.g. being a DJ at music events and helping at the door on club nights. Members help at fundraising events.
Newhaven and Lewes District Mencap help to address the isolation that people with learning disabilities have within their local communities. By coming to club night enhances our members lives to meet and socialise with their friends and also ensures parents and carers have to support with information sharing. This means that people with learning disabilities can meet up and mix with like-minded people and helps them integrate into society in a safe and happy environment without stress which must improve their social mobility.
