Organises international volunteer placements up to 12 months. NVW currently operates programmes in UK, Ireland, Spain, Poland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Following COVID, programmes in Ghana, Ecuador, Argentina, Vietnam and Fiji are on hold. Recruitment is international. Our key responsibility is to identify suitable partner organisations who may need volunteers, ensure the role is appropriate, given the age, experience and interest of our volunteers and that wider requirements, such as, accommodation, food, support and volunteer health and welfare are met. We have an application/selection process to ensure volunteers are suitable, provide information, advice and guidance at the pre-departure stage and also provide help and support, where needed, once a volunteer is on placement. Our approach is to encourage independence for our volunteers, while providing an appropriate duty of care.
