Objectives

The New Forest Centre is the place for all residents and visitors to the Forest to visit to learn about the special qualities of the New Forest National Park in association with the National Park Authority and in partnership with the New Forest District Council.  Through its collections, displays, education programme, outreach and partnership working, it celebrates the Forest’s unique ecology, history and culture, and engenders a sense of stewardship in its visitors.  The Christopher Tower Reference Library continues to collect relevant material and is widely used and recognised as a centre of excellence. The shop strives to reflect the ethos of the Centre and to provide a significant source of income as part of a sustainable funding mix and staff at the Centre provide all visitors with tourist information for the area.
