Nest Aylesbury Vale is an independent charity which provides home visiting support to parents living in Aylesbury Vale, with one or more children under 5yrs old. We support parents who are struggling to cope with family life, due to various factors such as disability, serious/life limiting illness, multiple birth, post-natal depression, isolation, physical or mental health issues. Any one of these issues can lead to stress within families, which can affect their wellbeing and can lead to family breakdown.
Our Co-ordinator recruits and carefully selects volunteers from the local community to maintain a team of 20 home-visiting volunteers, who are parents themselves. These volunteers receive training, regular support and individual supervision. Families are assessed and matched to a suitable volunteer. The volunteer provides weekly emotional and practical support to the family, this support being designed to meet what the parent has identified will help them the most.
We provide an enabling, accessible and family led service working alongside the parents to reduce stress, build confidence and help them get back on track.
