The charity's objectives are to advance the education of the public in maritime and coastal geology, the environment, history and archaeology with particular reference to the coastline of south east England.
The charity owns a maritime museum, the Shipwreck Museum, and three historic shipwrecks (from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries).
