NUM is a charity working to end all forms of violence against sex workers and the conditions leading to survival sex work. Through innovative digital safety tools, direct support programmes, and research projects on the conditions, trends and inequalities around sex work, we’re pushing to end the disproportionate harm facing sex workers in the UK.

  • To increase sex worker safety and prevent crime and harms against this diverse population of adults across sex industries in the UK.
  • To support sex workers in generating knowledge and sharing their experiences in ways that advance the well-being of their communities, lead to the social inclusion of sex workers and an end to stigma, discrimination and violence.
  • Provide victim-centred and trauma-informed support services.
  • To facilitate sex workers in safely accessing the public services of their choosing and in educating communities of stakeholders

In pursuit of these aims, NUM creates and runs safety tools for sex workers to screen dangerous individuals and warn other workers and frontline services; provides safety information and advice, emergency resources to reduce survival sex work, and direct support to sex workers experiencing violence; and works with sex workers to understand and navigate barriers around housing, work, justice and other systems where they face discrimination.
