To advance public education in reading, writing and other literacy skills.
The National Literacy Trust is an independent charity working with schools and communities to give disadvantaged children the literacy skills to succeed in life. We target our work in the communities that need help most, working with local partners to deliver place-based solutions. National Literacy Trust Hubs create long-term change in communities where low levels of literacy are entrenched, intergenerational and seriously impacting on people’s lives.
We run a variety of projects with primary and secondary school students to improve their literacy and life chances.
The Words for Work programme challenges the inequality in employment opportunities for young people, giving them the communication skills they need to be successful in the workplace.
