We are one branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), the UK's largest charity for parents, supporting new and expectant parents through their child's first 1,000 days.
Covering Basingstoke and the surrounding areas, our active branch is run by an enthusiastic team who volunteer their time to provide invaluable information, support and friendship to new parents and parents-to-be in our community.
Signature Antenatal Classes can be booked in various locations across the borough, giving you the chance to make friends who are expecting babies around the same time as you, as well a chance to learn about what choices you have in planning your birth and life with your new baby or babies.
We also run Relax, Stretch and Breathe classes for women during pregnancy (suitable from 12 weeks of pregnancy); Refresher Antenatal Courses for couples expecting their second or subsequent baby and Waterbirth workshops for couples interested in using water during labour.
Once your baby is born, choose from our Early Days Courses for mums with young babies; Introducing Solids workshops for those with babies between 4 & 6 months, NCT Mother and Baby Yoga and Baby Massage classes for mums & babies from 6 weeks onwards and first aid courses covering newborns up to children aged 12 years.
We have social groups and events across the borough, as well as support with breastfeeding through our B.A.B.I.E.S. group and one-to-one telephone support, planning a homebirth, finding a well fitting feeding bra and hiring breast pumps and valley cushions.
Our Nearly New Sales are among the largest in the country and are held in central Basingstoke in the spring and autumn. They are a great place to shop for you and your baby, stock up on maternity wear, baby and children's clothes, toys, books and games as well as equipment such as prams, cots and baby baths.
