Objectives

We're a Buddhist Meditation Centre set in the heart of Leicester city centre in England, only one and a half hours from London.  We're close to shops, cafes, gyms, cinemas, yoga studios, parks and a beautiful covered market.

We have a large meditation room, modern en-suite bunk bed dorms accommodating up to 4 people per room, but due to the latest COVID-19 measures we will only be sleeping 2 people per room.  We also have a World Peace Cafe, host regular meditation classes, meditation courses, and special events promoting the development of inner peace, compassion and wisdom.

We welcome everybody, Buddhist or non-Buddhist.

We are looking for volunteers to help in our World Peace Cafe, cleaning, painting, and office work.  There's a mixed age range of residents living here and a thriving community.

Activities

Modern Kadampa Buddhism is a special, practical presentation of Buddha’s teachings that is particularly suited to the modern day. It was introduced into contemporary society by the world-renowned meditation master and scholar Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

Modern Kadampa Buddhism preserves the meaning and intention of Buddha’s original teachings while presenting them in a clear and systematic way that anyone of any nationality, age or gender can easily understand and put into practice.
