Objectives

At Myton we believe that everyone matters for every single moment of their life; we focus on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option. We are not just about end of life care, we are here to support patients and their loved ones right from the moment they are diagnosed.

We have three hospices in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick, and have the only Hospice Inpatient beds in Coventry and Warwickshire. We care for people living with a wide range of terminal illnesses including Respiratory, Heart & Neurological conditions, Cancer and Organ failure.

We are a charity and we have to raise £11 million of the £14.3 million we need this year to continue providing our services free of charge. Less than 20% of our funding comes from the NHS. We rely on donations and support from our local communities.

Last year we supported more than 2000 people and their families, in our three hospices, via our patient and family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home. Volunteers play a vital role in the services that we are able to offer – they are highly valued and we just couldn’t operate without them.

Activities

The Myton Hospices is an organisation at the forefront of palliative and end of life care across Coventry and Warwickshire and with a national profile. We have three hospices, two inpatient units and an ever developing range of outpatient and community based services. We are the only hospice with inpatient beds providing specialist palliative care in Coventry and Warwickshire.

We have over 350 staff and over 800 volunteers in a wide variety of roles across our hospices, shops and events who are committed to improving the quality of life for patients and their families. Our people are central to the success of Myton working across our palliative care services, our fundraising, support teams and our extensive retail footprint. We are a much loved and well supported charity, at the heart of our community.

We cared for 500 people in our inpatient units in 2023-2024. Among the other support we provide,  578 people accessed our Wellbeing Services, 543 people used our Counselling service, 392 people used our Lymphoedema service and 396 people used our Complementary Therapy services.
