Objectives

Mweva UK is a Non-Profit organisation in the UK, we work to empower young people with employment and training skills. We are based in Milton Keynes, we have been serving the community for the last 2 years and have reached a big population base.

The youths and children are the main beneficiaries, we mainly work with people from the marginalized and disadvantaged communities. We provide them with ICT and business startup training skills.

We teach children computer coding skills, this helps to inspire them to become future software developers or work in any IT sector.

We teach web programming skills to youths, this becomes a path to employment.

We train youth in business startups on both the traditional business and social enterprise.

We work in a diverse community including unemployed, students, children, girls, refugees, asylum seekers and people from disadvantaged and marginalized communities.

Activities

We partner with schools in and around Milton Keynes to teach children Scratch - a computer coding development environment. Participants learn computer games development and computer safety session for kids.

Youths from disadvantaged, marginalized, refugees and asylum seekers register a high number of unemployed, not in education, not in training and have no qualification. We partner with other service providers to teach employable skills in web programming. Participants learn both front end and backend web development.

We visit student events to promote social enterprises, this help students to make a future decision on operating a business model that works best to serve the community.

Our back to education initiative encourages young people with no skills to go back to University and tertiary institutions, we partner with universities and other training institutions to promote their courses, hand out brochures and other information to young people and answer questions they might have about going back to education.
