Objectives

Mums In Need is a non-profit local domestic abuse organisation which supports mums who have left emotionally/mentally abusive relationships and who want to rebuild their lives.

The aim of the support is to help mums to feel more confident and in control of their situation and gain an understanding of exactly what they can do to help themselves and their children. MIN can provide them with the life skills they need so they can overcome their fears and find a way through the intimidation and emotional/psychological abuse.

MIN are understanding and caring and have become experts in this field. They have a great deal of experience, knowledge and understanding about emotional abuse in relationships, as well as having an understanding about how you navigate your way through the family justice system.

Activities

Mums In Need provides practical guidance and emotional support to mums who have left emotionally abusive partners. This service uniquely supports women who struggle to get help elsewhere because they are no longer with their partners or their abuse is not deemed ‘high risk’ enough to be supported by other services. The team have a great deal of experience, knowledge and understanding about emotional abuse in relationships. The aim of the support is to help mums gain an understanding of exactly what they can do to help themselves and their children in order to rebuild their lives and their confidence. We provide face-to-face support through peer groups, one-to-one support and a range of other services (legal, financial, empowerment, holistic).
