Objectives

When our local library was under threat of closure in 2018, a group of local residents came together and set up a new charity to keep our library open. Five years on we serve anyone in our locality who wants and needs a library service. No-one is excluded and our book stock reflects a commitment to equality and diversity. Young families, children and older people are our most frequent library users. We ensure free access to books and encourage reading for children with a wide and vibrant book stock. Our older readers and looking for a friendly face and chat as well as a good read. Two book clubs are supported and Lego club engages young readers.

Our local residents frequently thank us for keeping the service open and local. It is a needed service in our community.

Activities

We offer a library service as part of the Council's LibrariesWest consortium. We hold council books and our own books. The library card is the same as the Bath Central library. Book reservations through LibrariesWest gives access to millions of titles in a free service. Order a book and pick it up at our library.

We are open 15 hours a week over four days, with an ambition to increase opening hours with the recruitment of more volunteers.
