The aim of the Moorland Mousie Trust is to provide an alternative future for the unwanted Exmoor pony foals born to the free-living herds on Exmoor.
The Trust runs the Exmoor Pony Centre where these foals are handled before being placed in foster homes or conservation grazing sites. The Trust also benefits from an operational base in Northumberland from where several hundred conservation grazing ponies are co-ordinated. Since the charity was founded in 2000, more than 500 ponies have been homed. The Centre is open to visitors and provides a base on Exmoor where people can see and learn about Exmoor ponies.
