Objectives

  • We support people with mental health problems as they move towards a better life in society
  • We promote the dignity, well-being and self-determination of people experiencing mental distress.
  • We campaign for social inclusion and combat the stigma and discrimination experienced by people with mental health problems.
  • We ensure active service user consultation and involvement in the organisation at every level.
  • We nurture and develop our staff to enhance both their job satisfaction and the delivery of effective quality services.

Activities

At present, we deliver three main services.

  • We deliver community advocacy to people with a range of disabilities, including mental health problems.
  • We run a large counselling service which delivers psychodynamic (long) and integrative (short term) counselling
  • We offer employment advice for people with mental health problems.

We also support people with mental health problems to meet in out of hours social clubs, and at their request we provide a staff member to help facilitate these clubs.
