Restorations of abandoned and neglected graves of unsung heroes around the British Isles with researched, compelling and true, unknown or forgotten, histories of their lives and service.
The core beneficiaries of MGR CIC is the former UK and Commonwealth ex-services community who may need support within the justice system and/or have mental health well-being, and/or social isolation issues resulting from their service. Led by an ex-services qualified British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM), in collaboration with other specialist forces charities and programmes, veterans are offered hands-on restoration volunteering opportunities within a peer-group team environment. Experience and feedback has shown such opportunities have contributed toward restoring a sense of purpose and self-esteem among participants. Alternative routes into employment are also demonstrated for a community who may otherwise struggle to engage with mainstream civilian employment.
In collaboration with Service charities - MGR CIC leads cemetery graves and memorial-masonry restoration projects around the UK; mentoring, training and support is offered to ex-services participants.
From 2023 - the increasing demand [from Forces charities and similar organisations supporting veterans] for more projects around the UK, has necessitated up-scaling and formalising what was a voluntary community project into a CIC.
