Objectives

We offer outdoor work activities and opportunities to learn skills in animal husbandry, horticulture and agriculture for adults with additional needs, people recovering their mental health or those with an acquired brain injury.

Our Vision is…. Everyone, whatever their ability, has access to meaningful work that builds self-esteem, self-confidence and self-care and has a place where their contribution to their community is valued and respected.

Our Mission is that…. Millennium Farm Trust enhances the quality-of-life of adults with additional needs through the therapeutic use of animal husbandry, agriculture and horticulture work

Our Values are that by Growing together…. We will foster a community at Depden Care Farm that promotes transformation, accountability, and integrity.

Activities

Millennium Farm Trust runs Depden Care Farm on a 6-acre site in West Suffolk.  The organization provides opportunities for those with learning, physical and mental health needs to experience real work, to learn as part of a team where possible and to develop their self-confidence and work-based skills.  The therapeutic benefits of Care Farming are well researched and documented. This type of ‘green’ therapy offers the chance to improve general physical and mental well-being and to gain in confidence and self-esteem through working with the animals and as part of a team. The work encourages responsibility and self-control – and can offer a mindful and calming experience
