Objectives

The choir aims to support CLIC Sargent (www.clicsargent.org.uk) at Christmas and Spring concerts, with the help of the CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager - West Midlands.  In the summer, we support a different local church each year to help with their church funds.

Various children's choirs and young, talented soloists and/or musicians join us to perform at our concerts, so that we can offer a performance platform for them.

Activities

The Midlands Hospitals’ Choir is managed by trustees/committee of 5:  Chair,  Treasurer,  Secretary,  Printing and Publications,  Publicity, with the support of its Musical Director; organising 3 concerts each year.

It was originally formed in memory of Sir Malcolm Sargent and the charity set up in his name, drawing its members from local hospitals.  We still have a large contingent from the medical and associated professions, but the choir recruits anyone with a joy for singing (no auditions!), under the baton of our MD James Llewelyn Jones.

All singers pay a registration fee each term to help cover the cost of the rehearsal and concert fees, along with fees for our MD and accompanist and funds are raised through the sale of concert tickets and printed Programmes.
