The Midland Academies Trust (the Trust) is an independent, charitable organisation established by North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College to support local schools in North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire.

Over 1,900 students currently study at the Trust’s schools and academies and your involvement and contribution can help us to meet their needs.

The Trust is currently looking for enthusiastic, committed and motivated individuals to join its Board of Directors and a number of its academy Raising Achievement Boards.

We are keen to involve people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. You may have experience in education, business, community, social or charity work, financial or legal practice, or even be an entrepreneur. The broader your vocational field and cultural experience the better.


The Midland Academies Trust (the Trust) is an independent charitable organisation established by North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (the College), an academy sponsor approved by the Department for Education, to support local schools.

Supported by the College, the Trust is uniquely placed to enable young peoples’ progression throughout their school careers and into further or higher education, training and employment.

The Trust is:

  • a company limited by guarantee
  • a non-profit making, exempt charity
  • subject to company and charity law
  • financed by the Secretary of State.

The Trust currently comprises the following schools and academies:

  • The George Eliot School in Nuneaton
  • The Hartshill School in Hartshill
  • The Nuneaton Academy in Nuneaton
  • Heath Lane Academy in Earl Shilton.

We are seeking both Directors and Raising Achievement Board Members. Raising Achievement Board Members would be going into the schools to conduct visits, attending 5 evening meetings a year and taking an active part in school improvement.
