Objectives

We all experience fluctuations in our mental health and wellbeing, yet many of us still find it hard to speak out openly about this. In the UK around 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health condition each year. Many more of us will experience times when our mental barometer won’t be at one hundred percent; times when we are feeling anxious, insecure or just trying to cope with the many issues life throws at us.

The ethos of our friendly group is to bring people in the local community “together”; hosting events and activities which encourage open conversations about mental health in a safe, supportive, stigma-free environment. Our events focus on the positive role of physical exercise in enhancing mental health e.g. short local walks, and #runandtalk events in partnership with England Athletics. Our diverse activities include craft sessions, gardening, helping with Repair Cafe and coffee chats – we are always open to new ideas too! Opportunities to relax, chat and interact are at the heart of every event and activity that we offer.
