Mental Health Resource provide safe spaces and person-centred mental health support in our community across West Kent, to help people who have complex, enduring mental health conditions improve their wellbeing. Our clients have conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, self-harm and bi-polar and often struggle with low self-esteem and sometimes lack skills to manage stressful life events.
Last year, we supported 931 people with their mental wellbeing through our 4 non-judgemental, community-focused and supportive projects:
Our objective is to provide safe spaces and person-centred mental health support in our community to help people improve their wellbeing. We do this through the provision of the following services:
1. Community Support Services
The Hub: Our wellbeing centre, located in Tunbridge Wells, which offers free wellbeing activities & a safe space to talk for anyone over the age of 18.
Reachout: Confidential, self-help support groups focusing on wellbeing and taking place in Edenbridge, Southborough and Paddock Wood.
Reachout Youth: Fun and interactive café style sessions for young people in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells aged 13-19 years, who would like to have some support for their wellbeing.
2. Advocacy
Assert: A specialist advocacy service is provided to those detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 and in the community across West Kent and Maidstone, Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley.
3. Mental Health Training
Mental Health First Aid Training and Bespoke Mental Health Awareness Training for local companies, individuals and schools to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and to raise awareness.
