Objectives

What we do:

We run Creative and Well-Being sessions for early year and primary age children with medical conditions and complex physical and communication needs in schools and early year settings. A large part of our work it to train School Carers in carefully attuning to the children under their care.

Activities

How we do it:

We are currently running a project in two north London schools called " Hand and Sky; Magical Journeys". We are funded by "Awards for All", a National Lottery grant.

Our practitioners use Music, Therapeutic Touch, Movement and Story-Telling to work with the imagination, emotions and need for self-expression that every child has. We guide School Carers in this art of receptivity and active engagement and the child responds and opens to this. The child and Carer both come to feel witnessed and valued in this playful encounter. This becomes the foundation for healthy development in the child.
