Objectives

  • Access Aspiration is a Mayor’s Fund for London programme. We offer a free service to inspiring schools which lack careers’ provision. Our aim is to provide young Londoners from low income backgrounds with skills and networks to support new routes into university and employment. Professional volunteers like you broaden young people’s understanding of the workplace, increase their confidence, resilience and knowledge.
  • You will prepare the students for future interviews and encounters with professionals.

“I have been looking for a job since I was about 15, which usually involved awkwardly dropping my CV in shops and running away. My mock interview has given me the confidence to write a personal statement and really apply myself to what was out there. I ended up getting two jobs on the dame day”

Activities

We are always in need of professional volunteers to participate in our Mock Interview and speed networking  sessions for our programme Access Aspiration.

The session involves supporting young people with aspirational experiences to give them a better understanding of and insight into the world of work. In particular interviewing techniques for future job prospects or networking session, where professionals are able to offer support, answer questions and  talk about their journey into the world of work.
