Objectives

Maundy Relief‘s mission is to help those in need. We offer an immediate response to poverty and need. Operates as both a “first port of call” and a “last resort” for many people. We are open to all, but most of our beneficiaries represent individuals who are mentally unwell, disadvantaged, marginalised and poor who live in an area that is itself socio-economically deprived.

Activities

As a well-known organisation embedded in the local community, people contact us for a myriad of reasons: help with furniture, household goods and food; counselling for those in mental distress; welcome, hospitality and companionship for the lonely; advice and informal advocacy for those struggling with bureaucracy or those who slip through the net of statutory services; group activities and training for those ready to move on in their lives. We assist individual from hard to reach groups, who often have long term mental health problems, drug or alcohol issues, physical health problems or language and literacy issues. We offer advice, advocacy, befriending, counselling and drop in services such as food parcels and hot lunches.
