The Matson Gateway Hub/Café is part of a Co-operative between GL Communities, Gloucester Gateway Trist and Matson & Robinswood Resident Association.
The Matson & Robinswood Group part of this project is funded by GCH (Gloucester City Homes) While the rest is funded by GL Communities and the Gloucestershire Gateway Trust.
The Partnership using the building to support the community are GL Communities, Matson Resident group, Gloucestershire Gateway Trust and working alongside Community Rangers and Neighbourhood Watch as well as a team of volunteers.
GL Communities is a charity supporting local communities in Gloucester by providing advocacy and advice so residents are empowered to make positive changes in where they live.
For over 30 years we have been recognising and supporting the undiscovered potential of our residents by increasing their skills, confidence and self-reliance. This has been achieved through offering training and employment opportunities, particularly for those with caring responsibilities, physical or mental health issues or unemployment.
Our objective is for our volunteers to experience something new, gain what they most want out of their experience, for example, self-employment or employment. Volunteering is a brilliant way of stepping into employment, meeting new people and trying something new.
Our Café is keen to help residents in the area by running projects to benefit people different ways, whether it's sharing surplus veg and fruit or offering support groups for the vulnerable, Matson Gateway takes action for everyone.
