Objectives

Martineau Gardens is a well established two and a half acre community garden located in Edgbaston.  We are a relatively small charity with nine staff and an annual budget of circa £150k.  Our gardens are tended by a team of people, most with learning disabilities and mental health issues, who volunteer on our therapeutic horticulture programme.  In addition, we run an Environmental Education programme for local school children.  We also provide opportunities for young people attending local special schools to work at the gardens.  We are open to the public for 6 days a week.

Activities

  • Therapeutic Horticulture for people with mental health issues and learning disabilities.
  • Environmental Education for Primary Schools
  • Events and activities to give the public a reason to return to the Gardens.
