Objectives

The Marlow Wheels for All sessions operate from the Wycombe District Athletics Complex and is looking forward to helping more people enjoy all-ability cycling utilising its fleet of adapted cycles; from trikes, quads, recumbents, hand-cycles & side-by-side tandems.

The project runs on Saturdays from March to October from 12.30pm - 3.15pm with one hour time slots booked in advance.

Ian Tierney, Cycling Projects Charity Director, “It’s great to see the way this project is looking to develop new dedicated sessions & to offer more people the opportunity to get involved. The support for the project from the local cycling community has been fantastic, the Marlow Riders have generously donated over £10,000 from their annual Red Kite Sportive & the Saddle Safari bike shop have even raffled a bike & raised over £3,000 for the charity, which has all helped us buy more adapted cycles & train new volunteers to help run the sessions”.

Our sessions are delivered in a covid-aware environment with group sizes limited, regular cleaning and social distancing measures adhered to. This will continue to be our approach until May 17th where the sessions will be further risk assessed and updated in line with Government guidance

Instructions

All you need to do is complete the booking registration form in full, including as much detail as possible about any additional support needed for the participant(s). This allows us to tailor the session as much as possible and that the participant gets the very most out of the session, and leaves with the biggest smile on their face.

Please wear clothing suitable for being on a bike; comfortable clothing but not too loose, trainers and enough layers in case it gets cold. It is also important to bring a bottle of water to refresh, clearly labelled to avoid confusion, and it is always recommended to bring some sun cream as the athletics complex has limited shaded areas.

Activities

Provides barrier free inclusive cycling at affordable session prices for individuals and their families with special needs and disabilities.
