Objectives

Markfield is an inclusive  community hub in Haringey where people can play, socialise and get information and support. We are in independent registered charity.

Our vision is a world where disabled, Deaf and Autistic people are treated a s equals, have a voice and can live the life they want.

We provide a range of services for disabled children, young people , adults and their families.

Our purpose is:

  • To enable disabled, Deaf and Autistic people to be themselves, take risks and live life to the full
  • To focus on the needs of the whole family and break down isolation
  • To promote respect of disabled, Deaf and Autistic people and support their full participation in society

Activities

We support disabled people to live life to the full and to participate in the community, and we focus on the needs of the whole family. Our charity was founded over 35 years ago by parents of disabled children.

We provide a range of services from our unique centre, which is a Grade II listed converted Victorian pumping station, with a huge adventure playground, set inside the award winning Markfield Park by  the river Lea. Our services include:

  • Clubs and holiday playschemes for disabled children and their siblings
  • Arts and social clubs for adults with learning disabilities
  • Family support services including advice, training and carers’ support groups
