MAISON VERTE-UK welcomes families into the world. It provides a special place for families to meet each other, for babies and pre-nursery young children to play and talk and be introduced to their community and culture. It is special because sessions are hosted by 3 ‘Welcomers’ who are qualified psychoanalysts, counsellors or psychologists; they ensure a relaxed, non-judgemental and convivial atmosphere of respectfulness, while listening for needs and difficulties of both children and carers; issues of sharing, aggressive behaviour and so on, can be discovered, recognised, discussed and resolved in a positive and beneficial way.
Our help matters because many young families find themselves isolated, without any of their own support network of family around them, in a strange place with a newly born child. We reduce the feeling of alienation and help to build their confidence as parents.
