Objectives

Lymington u3a (University of the Third Age) is a member of a UK-wide collection of more than 1,000 locally-run organisations that provide opportunities open to all in their third age, which is defined not by a particular age but by a period in life in which full time employment has ceased. Members draw upon their knowledge and experience to teach and learn from each other for pleasure.  We are local, social, friendly, low-cost and open to all.

Activities

Activities open to all members include monthly speaker meetings, monthly TED talks and discussions, 'Questors' outings to unusual places often not open to individual members of the public, and theatre trips. Then we have 41 member-led groups on a wide range of subjects - where members can speak foreign languages, study history or Shakespeare, and discuss philosophy or current affairs, as well as play card or board games, do yoga or play pétanque – and much more.
