Objectives

The Scouts aims to support young people aged 6-18 (up to 25 for Network Members) gain skills for life in a variety of outdoor and indoor educational settings.  We aim to demonstrate the power of the outdoors, safely teaching skills such as camping, cooking, cleaning, and how to use fire. Alongside this, we encourage an atmosphere and ethos based on trust, honesty, and integrity.  Tackling big social issues, and educating our young people to be model citizens of the world. A Scout is to be trusted. A Scout is friendly and considerate. A Scout has self-respect and respect for others.

Activities

Within Lowry (11 Scout Groups across the City of Salford, and Swinton and Pendlebury), we have 150 active volunteers. All of our volunteers have different positions within the organisation, but the majority are directly involved in engaging our young people with an exciting, balanced programme. A small number of our volunteers are involved in a non-executive/trustee position. These volunteers support the governance of the charity, ensuring we have the resources to continue deliver Scouting.
