Our organisation encourages communities and local authorities from across Greater London to enter our competitions and through those competitions and non-competitive categories encourages groups large and small to engage in horticulture & gardening as healthy pursuits, encourage communities to take an interest in improving their local environment and to encourage community cohesion and use growing as a social activity. As a result of entering judges & assessors visit every entry and advise on making local improvements and recognise & reward the achievements.
The three pillars of London in Bloom encourages and creates awareness and participation in; Horticulture, Gardening & Conservation Achievement, Environmental Responsibility and Community Participation London in Bloom receives entries from London two Cities, London Boroughs, Towns, Town Centres, Villages, Neighbourhood Community Gardening Groups, Urban Communities, Business Improvement Districts, Parks & Heritage Parks & Gardens and Business Landscapes.
Each year judges (competitive entries) and assessors (non-competitive entries ) visit communities (350 last year) and using a nationally agreed criteria assesses each entry. Therefore entries benefit from our annual competitions through the guidance and support given to enable groups and larger entries to achieve that ‘wow’ factor, as well as for maximum benefit to the community and the environment

Being part of London in Bloom also means that involvement gives access to a London wide network of passionate professional and community gardeners and through seminars and events access to networking opportunities in London
Through the association with Britain in Bloom (London in Bloom is one of 16 member regions of Britain in Bloom and as such, each entry receives digitalcopies a community gardening magazine, Grass Roots, full inspirational stories and expert advice
