Objectives

The London Acorn School (est. 2013) is an OFSTED outstanding school set in a National Trust listed building in Southwest London.

We work in partnership with parents to create lo-tech/no-tech childhoods and follow the holistic Whiting Educational Model for family schools which originated at The Acorn School in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire (est. 1991) and has proven and successful outcomes.

We currently educate children between 3 and 6 years in Kindergarten and between 7 and 14 years in Lower and Middle School. Acorn education has a unique and extremely successful curriculum and project based university entrance scheme for Upper School students aged 15 to 18 years and this is set to launch in London (for children who have acquired Acorn Middle School skills) in 2016.

Our current student intake includes children from mainstream independent and state, waldorf steiner, montessori and homeschool educational backgrounds

Activities

At The London Acorn, we believe that each child’s inner potential is immense and precious.

Our aim is to educate our children so that they might become naturally confident, free thinkers grounded by the solid foundation of a thorough, well-rounded curriculum. We place a unique value on the children’s whole environment, both at home and school, nurturing essential qualities from which each child’s individual excellence may manifest.
