Objectives

Crossover came about because the local people identified that as a village, there was little for the young people to do.Time has not changed that need.  Covid isolation, County lines and the myriad assaults on young people today - social media, sexual exploitation, drugs, bullying all abound. At the Centre   we provide a place of safely where discussions and support can be achieved along side activities.

Activities

Liss Youth Centre (Crossover) is a drop in centre for the youth of the village of Liss in Hampshire.  After school sessions are held for young people from aged10 upwards with the usual table games, craft sessions etc.Music is a favourite activity, with a youth worker teaching the youngsters drumming. guitar etc.  In addition we hold bespoke sessions for young people who are not attending school, not in work or training. We find that with sessions on life skills, there is often a marked improvement in their mental health.  Out other activity is street based youth work where Youth Workers go out into the vicinity and talk to those young people who don't come to the Centre and who maybe would benefit from doing so,
