Objectives

Limehouse Town Hall Consortium Trust (LTHCT) is a charity founded in 2004 as a resource for artists, community arts organisations, cultural producers and communities. Its mission is to maintain, improve and promote Limehouse Town Hall’s use with the aims of advancing public education and involvement in arts and culture and restoring the building to its place as an active participant in Limehouse, the east end of London and beyond.

A grade II listed building, Limehouse Town Hall is a place where artists and cultural producers, audiences and communities from Tower Hamlets and beyond are supported to share ideas, try out new things, and imagine a better here and now. LTHCT supports a number of organisations and artists based at the Town Hall.

Activities

Limehouse Town Hall’s role is to:

  • Drive the cultural sector by developing an ethical model for the cultural industries, one that brings together arts, activism and alternative grassroots forms of civic participation.
  • Embolden the peoples and communities around E14 and the local area by providing space to connect, celebrate and create progressive and just changes in individual lives and society.
  • Inspire artists and cultural producers to work collaboratively to participate in the life of the building and nurture creative and social networks in London’s East End, nationally and beyond.
