Our Primary Education Programme has been delivered by us in England since 1994 and to British Forces children overseas for over 10 years. Our programmes started life as a partnership between D.A.R.E. America, Nottinghamshire Police and Mansfield District Council. After the initial pilots, D.A.R.E. (UK) grew into its own company with the support of those organisations, eventually becoming Life Skills Education C.I.C. (a Community Interest Company) in 2011 and more recently gaining Charitable status. We now design, update and deliver our own programmes which are aimed at pupils aged 5-16 years, across the whole of England, who are susceptible to becoming addicted to or dependent upon drugs, alcohol or tobacco. By developing decision making skills needed to make informed decisions, we help the young people who go through our programme to achieve their full potential, by making safe and healthy choices around risky behaviours. We also train teachers to deliver our programme and supply evaluated resources for them to use. Nearly 400,000 young people have graduated from one of our programmes in the 30 years since we started and we have a proven track record of delivery in 280 English Schools, and Schools in Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland’s.
As a charity we aim:
‘To educate young people to lead safe and healthy lives and achieve their potential’
‘To provide drug and alcohol education to more young people year on year’
